Case study report ‘Synergies and Services from H2 and Biobased Value Chains Deployment’ available
Inter-Task Project Synergies of Green Hydrogen and Biobased Value Chains has published a new Case study report!
The new report presents an overview of ten leading case studies from across the globe that examine how renewable hydrogen can be integrated into bio-based value chains. The examples showcase diverse technological pathways, economic and climate impacts, and potential roles within future energy systems. Key advantages highlighted include the integration of methanation and other Power-to-X processes without separate CO₂ capture, reducing both CAPEX and OPEX, and leveraging higher CO₂ concentrations in biogenic off-gases.
Together, these case studies create a concise picture of ongoing projects investigating hydrogen–biomass synergies and position these findings within the broader context of technological maturity and economic performance. The report also identifies remaining research needs to enable the scale-up and realization of such concepts.
