European Biomass Conference and Exhibition 2025 in Valencia, Spain
The 33rd European Biomass Conference and Exhibition was organized in Valencia, Spain, on 9-12 June 2025. The conference brought together more than 1500 delegates from 80 countries around the world, being the largest biomass conference in the world.
Task 44 was presented by Daniela Thrän, and her presentations showed the main activities of Task 44, also highlighting the needs for valorisation of flexible bioenergy and system integration:

Robust assessment methods: clear methodologies are essential to evaluate valorisation potential effectively.

Collaborative engagement: active cooperation with broader energy community is needed to address the manifold potentials of flexibility in power, heat and transport sector (especially around flexibility dimensions).

Supportive policy and market frameworks: While emerging, current policy and market conditions are often indirect and insufficient to fully support valorisation.

Demonstration of technology diversity: Best practice examples and a wide portfolio of technologies are crucial to showcase feasibility and scalability.
